HERE ARE A FEW WAYS TO REMOVE MOULD, NATURALLY.
A lot of peoples’ first defence is to reach for a bottle of bleach. Not only is bleach harmful to us, it’s harmful for our water systems and there is a lot of excess pollution involved in the creation of both the product and the packaging.
Bleach no more! Here are our 3 top tips (tried and tested) for getting rid of mould naturally…
1. Tea Tree Oil or Clove oil and Water (the most effective method)
I have always found this combination to be the most effective method of naturally removing mould. Add 15 drops of your chosen oil into a spray bottle. Spray onto mouldy areas and leave for two hours, spray a bit more, wipe away.
It’s that easy!
2. Straight, white vinegar.
This combination is said to kill 82 percent of mould, which my testing can confirm. So, if for some reason you’re not into using clove or tea tree oil and want the next best thing, vinegar is for you.
Just pop some straight vinegar into spray bottle, spray, leave for an hour, wipe off with warm water.
And now for something completely different, did you know vodka is great for cleaning? The cheaper the better.Pop some straight vodka into your nifty spray bottle. Spray, leave for an hour, wipe off with warm water.
All of these methods have worked really well . Here are a few tips on helping to avoid mould in the first place.
- Fix any leaks and address any plumbing issues. This will also help reduce your water usage and save you money.
- Let the sun shine in.
- Open doors and windows to promote air circulation, especially after showering or while cooking
